Sherpas Cinema, the production house behind Imagination, has released its latest film, “Children of Columbia: A Skier’s Odyssey.” Watch it here.

Join big mountain skiers Dane Tudor and Christina Lustenberger as they travel up the waterway that shaped them, the mighty Columbia River, home to some of the best skiing in the world.

From Trail through Revelstoke and on to Kinbasket Lake, through the famed Selkirks, Monashees and Rocky Mountains, Dane and “Lusti” move northwards through a unique mountain culture. A land of stark contrast, where dams and development give way to wilderness, massive snows, and a sea of peaks.

The editor-in-chief of both Kootenay and Coast Mountain Culture magazines is also a member of the Sherpas Cinema team and was on hand to help produce this 20-minute-video. You’ll also find the cover story of the latest KMC mag is all about Christina Lustenberger and how she became one of the foremost big mountain skiers of her generation.

The Columbia River is one of the most famous waterways in the world. Since time immemorial it has been the geographic thread that ties the Pacific Northwest together. Over the last century, however, it has gone through a profound transformation, harnessed for resources like power, wood, and minerals. But alongside this industrial development, the Columbia has emerged as an iconic centre for backcountry adventure, home to some of the best skiing in the world.

Combining Sherpas Cinema’s award-winning cinematography, with a rare mix of archival footage and narration, and featuring a custom score by UK producer Rival Consoles, “Children of the Columbia” is a ski adventure, historical documentary, and sensory feast all wrapped into one.

Children of the Columbia: A Skier’s Odyssey is presented by CMH Heli Skiing, in Association with Scott Sports, Smartwool, and Supported by Mica Heli-skiing and Black Crows.
