So you’re at a dinner party. The food is good, the music okay, the conversation, um, well, not to be rude, but it’s about as exciting as watching leaves rot. Politics and weather, the news. You thought this was a dinner “party.” As in, let’s dive deep into the wine and dance; let our heads spin into the essence of life, you know, let it all hang out. Perhaps you didn’t know the word “party” is one of many homonyms, that multi-faceted word-rager that makes learning the English language near impossible — unless you’re an infant, of course.
