Rossland, British Columbia, will once again host the Blizzard Music Festival January 23-26 with acts that include Skratch Bastid and Mat the Alien.

An intense storm characterized by strong guitar riffs will be blasting through Rossland, British Columbia next week as the Blizzard Music Festival is forecasted to be bigger and better than ever.

The curated Canadian music festival now stretches across four days, taking place from January 23 to 26. Multiple indoor and outdoor venues will host performances, including the coinciding Rossland Winter Carnival, which is celebrating its 122nd anniversary this year.

The annual music festival, which started as an extension of the Winter Carnival, has become a community mainstay. Originally it was a three-venue festival but this year it will include 10 venues.  Event coordinator Daniel D’Amour attributes the boom over the last five years to the Festival’s dedication to booking an array of artists that offer an inclusive musical experience. “Festival-goers can expect a robust, eclectic line up; we have everything from folk and bluegrass to breakbeat and hip hop to stoner metal,” he adds. “The mandate is to provide a variety of music from all genres and stylings, with an emphasis on curating Canadian content – there’s something for everyone to appreciate!”
