One of our editors had the pleasurable task of driving from Nelson to Vancouver. A drive we at the KMC/CMC staff do quite regularly. Not so regular is the opportunity to drive a brand new truck, a pimped out 2014 special edition Tundra no less. It definitely takes the edge off of passing semi trailers in the snow, with nearly 400 horse under foot, leather air conditioned seats (it gets hot down there whilst driving through snowy mountains!) and the Comedy Channel on satellite. In honour of beautiful landscapes and adventurous weather behind the wheel of a beautiful and equally adventurous road vessel, we present an A to B photo essay of sorts. From Nelson up and over the Blueberry-Paulson, down past Greenwood and Grand Forks, through to the Anarchist Summit and along the Similkameen, up through the snows of Manning Park and into the rain of Hope, take a trip with us. Story and photos by Mitchell Scott.

A little skiff to start the road trip off in Nelson, BC

Across Nelson’s iconic Orange Bridge to brush the snow off.

Up into the snows of the Monashees

Highway 3 is a crowsnest of semi trailers.

Down into the smooth flowing roads of Christina Lake.

Down into the dryer climes of the Similkameen.

Into the sleepy summer town of Keremeos.

It’s always sunny in the Okanagan, even in winter.

Closing in on Princeton, we’re a little more than halfway to Vancouver.

Oooh, she’s a fine looking rig. One day, just maybe.

Back on the road, one last pass before the Fraser Valley and it’s starting to storm.

No big whup though, the Tundra’s got er covered even in extreme pukage.
