Kootenay Mountain Culture Magazine Launches New Website.

Based in Nelson, BC, with a growing readership and an emerging reputation as one of the most coveted outdoor publications in western North America, KMC magazine recently restructured their website around the growing move towards a content management based web system.

“We’re finally up to speed when it comes to our on-line presence,” say KMC editor and co-publisher Mitchell Scott. “Over the last few years we’ve stayed quite focused on our printed product, but as more and more readers and contributors attempt to interact with our publication, we really felt the need to open it up a bit more. That’s what happens when you become the voice for a culture and a way of life, and the dynamic, content fresh website is an incredible tool for enabling more voices to enter the conversation.”

Using the savvy skills of Nelson-based web designer, Simon de la Salle, KMC is extremely excited to both present the significant body of work it’s created in the last eight years of publishing, as well as provide a venue for engaging photos, stories, events, videos and news that’s associated with the Kootenays and mountain lifestyle in general.

“It really presents a new era in what we do and how we interact with mountain communities,” continues Scott. “It’s kind of like we finally found that super deep stash we’ve heard about for so long. And now we’re shredding. KMC style.”
